CARMEL, Ind. – Franklin College juniors Abby Sewell and Kyndall Boyll were recognized among the top players in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) on Monday (Nov. 11) morning when the league announced its volleyball all-conference teams.
Sewell collected her second straight First Team All-HCAC nod after another strong season while Boyll picked up her first all-conference honor by earning a spot on the honorable mention team.
Franklin, Ind.-native Sewell started all 30 matches for the Grizzlies, ranking third on the team with 265 kills while leading all FC regulars with a .301 hitting percentage and putting together 13 matches with at least 10 successful attacks. Defensively, she held down the front of the net, finishing with 74 total blocks, 21 coming in solo fashion, while adding 119 digs and tied for the team lead with 33 aces.
Centerpoint, Ind.-native Boyll led all Franklin attackers with 332 kills while leading the group of outside hitters with a .181 attacking percentage while putting together 17 games with double-digit kills. Across a span of three straight matches, she would set new career highs in kills, the most coming with 21 against Defiance. In the season finale, she recorded her first career double-double with 13 kills and 21 digs, the latter number setting a new career-high.
