ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – For the third time in as many matches, the Franklin College volleyball team disposed of their opponent in straight sets. The Grizzlies (9-4) picked up a hard-fought road win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods (6-5) on Wednesday night, running their winning streak to three matches.

Brooke Harvey had a season-high 14 kills to lead the Franklin attack and Gab Arthur chipped in with 11 kills as the Grizzlies finished with a .220 attacking percentage on the night.

The Grizzlies got off to a fast start in set one, taking six of the first seven points of the night. Franklin's lead would grow to as many as 11 in game one and despite a late charge from the Pomeroys, it wasn't enough as the Grizzlies picked up a 25-21 win in the first set.

The Pomeroys looked to flip the script in game two, jumping out to a 10-4 lead in the early going. That lead wouldn't last long, as Franklin rallied back to even things up midway through the set. Franklin would use a late 5-2 run to take control of the game before hanging on for a 25-23 set two win.

Game three was a back-and-forth battle that saw the lead exchanged several time in the early going. Holding a slim one-point lead late in the set, the Grizzlies put the match away with a 5-1 run to close things out a 25-21 win in game three.

Kennedy Surface had eight kills while Amanda Lelivelt had six put-aways and the team's two solo blocks on the night. Nico Morris finished with 22 assists on the night while Jourdan Worthington served up 16 helpers.

Defensively, Libby Stahl dug up 22 balls to lead all players while Arthur also hit double figures with 10 digs.

The Grizzlies will look to keep their winning streak rolling on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Manchester and Wisconsin-Platteville to town for a pair of matches. The Grizzlies open HCAC play against the Spartans at noon before battling Wisconsin-Platteville at 4:00 p.m.
