Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team recorded a pair of four-set home victories on Saturday, picking up its 11th victory of the season in the process.
The Grizzlies evened their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference record with a triumph against Earlham College (25-22, 25-13, 20-25, 26-24). Later, the hosts defeated Fontbonne University (26-24, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20).
In Saturday's opener, freshman Kennedy Surface led the hitting attack with 14 kills and added 16 digs defensively. Junior Amanda Lelivelt had nine kills, while junior Brooke Harvey recorded eight kills.
Sophomore Libby Stahl led the Grizzlies with three serving aces and contributed 15 digs. Morris, Harvey, and Lelivelt each added two serving aces.
Against Fontbonne, Surface recorded her second double-double of the day with 12 kills and 20 digs. She was one of three players to reach double figures for kills, followed closely by Lelivelt with 11 and freshman Jenna Spini adding 10. Harvey also had nine kills to round out the team's offensive attack.
Senior Sarah Labra had a season-high 24 digs in the later victory.
Morris led the Grizzlies with 24 assists and had 13 digs, while Bazier tallied 21 assists and 14 digs.
Franklin (11-7 overall, 1-1 in HCAC) returns to action on Wednesday, October 5 at 7:30 p.m. when it travels to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in conference action from Terre Haute, Indiana.
