Volleyball Sweeps Saint Mary-of-the-Woods

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team recorded its eighth victory of the season, defeating Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in straight sets (25-13, 25-21, 25-13) on Wednesday from the Spurlock Center.

The Grizzlies (8-6) relied on a balanced offensive attack with juniors Brooke Harvey and Amanda Lelivelt and sophomore Gab Arthur each recording six kills. Three players added three kills in the victory.

The defense held the visitors to 20 kills and 25 hitting errors in the contest. Junior Lauren Harmon, freshman Jenna Spini and Lelivelt each recorded two solo blocks in the victory.

Senior Ashley Bazier helped distribute the offensive attack with 15 assist. Freshman Nico Morris registered 11 assists and six digs defensively.

Sophomore Libby Stahl led the Grizzlies with 16 digs, while Bazier recorded seven digs. Junior Sarah Labra added six digs.

Franklin returns to action on Saturday, September 24 at 1 p.m. when it opens Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play at Manchester University from North Manchester, Indiana.
