Volleyball Downs Pikeville in Quaker Classic Finale

Richmond, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team improved to 6-3 on the season when it picked up a 3-0 victory against Pikeville University (25-23, 25-17, 25-20) in the Quaker Classic at Earlham College on Sunday. The Grizzlies won two of their three matches during the weekend tournament.

Juniors Lauren Harmon and Amanda Lelivelt each led the Grizzlies with seven kills in the match. Lelivelt tied for match-high honors with three blocks. Sophomore Sydney Stuckwisch added six kills compared to two hitting errors. Junior Brooke Harvey rounded out the balanced offensive attack with five kills.

Senior Ashley Bazier led Franklin with 16 assists, while contributing seven digs defensively. Freshman Nico Morris tallied 14 assists and five digs.

Sophomore Libby Stahl registered a team-high 18 digs in the victory. Harmon added nine digs defensively.

Franklin returns to action on Friday, September 16 when it begins play at the Kenyon Invitational from Gambier, Ohio. The team will face Olivet College and Otterbein College during the first day of the invitational.
