Balanced Attack Leads to Road Win at Wilmington

Wilmington, Ohio - Three Franklin College volleyball players reached double-figures in kills during a four-set victory at Wilmington College in non-conference action on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies (4-2) rebounded after dropping the opening set 25-20 to win the last three frames. Franklin squared the contest with a 25-13 victory in the second set. The team dropped 10 points in the third point and closed out the match with a 25-17 win in the fourth set.

The visitors had a .441 hitting percentage during the third set.

Junior Brooke Harvey led the Grizzlies with 12 kills and committed only two hitting errors in the match. She also had four serving aces. Junior Amanda Lelivelt added 11 kills and three solo blocks. Sophomore Sydney Stuckwisch tallied 10 kills, while freshman Jenna Spini rounded out the attack with eight kills.

Senior Ashley Bazier helped distribute the offense with 18 assists. Freshman Nico Morris recorded 16 assists and four serving aces.

Defensively, sophomore Libby Stahl registered a team-high 21 digs. Junior Lauren Harmon made 10 digs and Morris added nine digs.

Franklin returns to action on Saturday, September 10 at 3 p.m. when it faces the University of Concordia-Chicago from the Earlham Tournament in Richmond, Indiana. The team also battles Muskingum University later on Saturday at 5 p.m.
