Volleyball Goes 3-1 over Weekend at Raven Invitational

Anderson, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team won three of its four tournament matches at the Raven Invitational after splitting two Saturday contests at Anderson University.

The Grizzlies (3-2) opened the action with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-18) victory against Olivet College. Then, Albion College earned a 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-21) in the team's tournament finale. Franklin swept Waynesburg University and Kalamazoo College on Friday.

Freshman Jenna Spini led Franklin's offensive attack with nine kills in the win against Olivet. She posted a .533 hitting percentage in the match and committed just one hitting error in the match.

Junior Amanda Lelivelt tallied seven kills and assisted on two blocks.

Senior Ashley Bazier led the Grizzlies with 14 assists and registered 10 digs defensively. Freshman Nico Morris chipped in 10 assists to help distribute the offensive attack.

Sophomore Libby Stahl recorded a team-high 21 digs, junior Lauren Harmon followed closely behind with 20 digs.

In the Albion match, junior Brooke Harvey led the team's hitting performance with seven kills. Lelivelt chipped in with five kills in the contest. Albion relied on a strong defensive effort, holding the Grizzlies to a .041 hitting percentage for the match.

Franklin returns to action on Wednesday, September 7 at 7 p.m. when it travels to Wilmington College.
