Volleyball Hosting Transylvania on Wednesday for Senior Night

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College volleyball team honors five seniors during the program's Senior Night match on Wednesday, October 14, at 7 p.m. when it battles Transylvania University from the Spurlock Center.

Seniors Theresa Brown (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central), Kourtney Settle (Vallonia, Ind./Brownstown Central), Hope Steel (New Palestine, Ind./Lutheran), Mackenzie Wieneke (Seymour, Ind./Seymour), and Emily Young (Avon, Ind./Avon) will be recognized during a pregame ceremony for their contributions to the program over the past four seasons.

The 2015 team enters Wednesday's match on an eight-match winning streak and stands 15-9 on the season. The Grizzlies won a pair of four-set matches against Anderson University and the College of Wooster on Saturday. Franklin is 4-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play.

Sophomore Amanda Lelivelt (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Riverside Brookfield) leads the team's balanced offensive attack with 249 kills. She also is tops on the team with a .321 hitting percentage. Lelivelt has recorded 67 blocks for the season.

Settle (left) has posted 243 kills and a .283 hitting percentage this fall. She leads the team with 85 blocks, including 39 solo blocks.

Sophomore Brooke Harvey (Clinton, Ind./South Vermillion) has recorded 202 kills, while Young (bottom right) rounds out the attack with 166 kills.

Junior Ashley Bazier (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute South) distributes the offense with 891 assists. She is averaging 9.2 assists per set on the season. Bazier ranks second on the team with 347 digs.

Wieneke (left) leads all NCAA Division III players with 591 digs and 6.2 digs per set in 2015. She is the reigning HCAC Defensive Player of the Week. Wieneke has been honored by the conference for the fourth time this season.

Brown (bottom left) has tallied 301 digs on the season, while leading the team with 32 serving aces. Sophomore Sarah Labra (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) has recorded 148 digs, while Steel (bottom middle) has added 136 digs on the season.
