FRANKLIN – Playing their second match in less than 24 hours, the Franklin College women's tennis team capped off their weekend with a dominant 9-0 win against Oakland City University on Sunday.

The Grizzlies improved to 10-1 in the fall and did so in impressive fashion. Franklin did not drop a point in doubles play and all six Grizzly singles competitors won in straight sets.

There were no lineup changes to the Grizzlies' doubles teams from a day ago. The top team of Karen Dringenburg and Rachel Rose, No. 2 tandem of Megan Battles and Lilly Bushong and the number three pairing of Claire Hirsch and Jessica Baker were all 8-0 winners.

In singles play, the Grizzlies conceded just five points over six singles matches to the Mighty Oaks. Rose, Battles and Baker all grabbed 6-0, 6-0 wins from the two, four and six spots. Dringenburg and Alexa Schofner earned identical 6-1, 6-0 wins from the one and three positions while Bushong was a 6-2, 6-1 winner in the five-spot to close the match.

Now winners of four straight matches, the Grizzlies head into the final week of the regular season. The Grizzlies play the first of two conference matches at home on Wednesday night when Hanover College comes to town. First serve from Mickel-Hoover is set for 6:00 p.m.
