KOKOMO, Ind. – The Franklin College women's soccer team continued their hot start to the fall season on Tuesday night, picking up a 9-0 win over Indiana-Kokomo to notch their second dual match victory in the last three days.
The Grizzlies made quick work of the Cougars in doubles play, rolling to three wins while conceding just five points along the way.
The top tandem of Karen Dringenburg and Rachel Rose remained unbeaten this fall after picking up an 8-2 win over Adrianna Ward and Brianne Abrahamson at the top doubles spot. Holyn Eldridge and Alexa Schofner were victorious by the same score at No. 2 doubles while Megan Battles and Lilly Bushong picked up an 8-1 win to close out team play.
Dringenburg picked up her first singles win of the fall with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Ward at No. 1 singles. Eldridge was a 6-2, 6-2 winner in the two-spot, while Rose stayed unbeaten in singles play with a 6-2, 6-1 in the third spot.
Schofner was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over Kelsey Kohl in No. 4 singles action. Battles picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win in the five-spot while Bushong went the distance before ultimately earning a 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 10-8 win over Katie McCoy in No. 6 singles play.
The Grizzlies will have a few days off before hitting the road for two dual matches on Sunday, Sept. 10. Franklin will take on Webster at 9:00 a.m. before battling Lindenwood at noon.
