Franklin, Ind. - Franklin College's women's swimming and diving team has joined men's swimmer Artur Schneider in being recognized for academic success by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The women's team received Scholar All-America team honors after achieving a 3.32 collective grade point average (GPA) for the 2016 spring semester. The team also was recognized following the 2015 fall academic term.
Schneider, a junior from Zurich, Switzerland, was named a Scholar All-American for posting a 3.5 or higher GPA in the 2015-16 season, and also participating in the 2016 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championships. This marks the second straight season Schneider has earned Scholar All-America honors by the CSCAA.
In the pool, Franklin's women's team had a 10-1-1 dual meet record during the 2015-16 season. The team placed second at the 2016 Liberal Arts Championships, and took top honors at the Heartland Invitational and the Colonel Classic at Centre College. Meanwhile, the men's team captured its third consecutive Liberal Arts Championship team title and Schneider competed in three events at the NCAA Division III championships. Both the women's and men's teams are coached by Andrew Hendricks.
