Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams seek to continue its strong start to the 2015-16 season when it travels to Centre College for a dual meet on Saturday, November 7, at 7 p.m. from Danville, Kentucky.
Both teams stand 3-0 on the season after sweeping a home triangular meet against Illinois College and Illinois Institute of Technology on October 24. The Grizzlies then defeated Manchester University in a dual meet last Friday.
The men's swimming and diving team is ranked No. 47 nationally among NCAA Division III teams in this week's CollegeSwimming.com poll.
Junior Artur Schneider (Zurich, Switzerland) and freshman Rob Warren (Bowling Green, Ky./Bowling Green) each won two races to lead the men's team at Manchester.
The Grizzlies took top honors in 13 of the 14 events and the top three finishers in eight events against the Spartans.
Schneider won the 50-yard freestyle (22.11 seconds) and the 50-yard backstroke (24.44 seconds). Warren touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.86) before earning a victory in the 50-yard butterfly (26.14 seconds).
Meanwhile, junior Lauren McCool (New Albany, Ind./New Albany) led the women's team at Manchester with three individual event victories. She also swam a leg on the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team.
Franklin's women's swimming and diving team won all 14 events against Manchester and gained the maximum allowable points in 13 of the 14 races.
Sophomore Karlee Demsey (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) was also a multiple-event winner at Manchester.
After Saturday's meet at Centre, both teams will host Transylvania University on Friday, November 13, at 6:30 p.m.
