Women’s Soccer Captures Win at Bluffton

Bluffton, Ohio - The Franklin College women's soccer team scored twice in each half to remain unbeaten in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play with a 4-1 win at Bluffton University on Saturday.

Franklin (8-2-3, 4-0-1 HCAC) got on the scoreboard in the 25th minute when freshman Masey Bunn (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) found the back of the net for the first time this fall. Freshman Haley Lowe (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) assisted on the scoring opportunity.

Later in the first half, freshman Hannah McIntosh (Dousman, Wis./Kettle Moraine) gave the visitors a 2-0 lead off a corner kick by junior Allie Amato (Noblesville, Ind./Cathedral).

Franklin took a 3-0 advantage in the 56th minute on Bunn's second goal of the match. The goal marked her sixth tally of the season.

Lowe capped the Grizzlies' scoring in the 63rd minute with her fifth goal of the season.

Franklin had 12 of its' 16 shots on goal, led by Lowe's four shots. Ramaj added three shots, while Bunn chipped in two shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Young (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) made two saves during the first half. Sophomore Kelsie Williams (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) came in to tally three saves during the second half.

The Grizzlies return to action on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. when they host Hanover College from Faught Stadium. Live statistics and video of the match will be available.
