Franklin, Ind. - Freshman Haley Lowe (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) scored two goals as the Franklin College women's soccer team picked up a 4-0 victory over the St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Wednesday from Faught Stadium.

The Grizzlies (2-1) scored all four goals in the first half.

It didn't take long for Lowe to find the back of the net, scoring in 53 seconds off assisting passes from freshman Clare Lenart (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) and senior Rachel Lucas (Avon, Ind./Avon).

Franklin took a 2-0 advantage in the 21st minute on a goal from freshman Jessica Silva (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove). Freshman Hannah McIntosh (Dousman, Wis./Kettle Moraine) set up Silva's second goal of the season.

One minute later, Lowe scored her second goal of the match to give the hosts a commanding 3-0 lead.

Freshman Jasmine Hunt (Indianapolis, Ind./Franklin Central) scored her first career goal with five minutes remaining in the period. Junior Emma Hagist (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) stole a pass near midfield and played a ball ahead for Hunt. She chipped the ball over the goalkeeper for the tally.

Eight of Franklin's 10 first-half shots were on goal. Overall, the Grizzlies had 17 shots for the match. Defensively, the team allowed just one shot.

Franklin returns to the pitch on Wednesday, September 17 at 7 p.m. when it travels to DePauw University.
