GREENVILLE, Pa. – Two members of the Franklin College women's lacrosse team were name Honorable Mention by the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) on Monday (May 7) while another was named to the league's All-Sportsmanship team.
Senior attacker Jess Silva collected her first career honorable mention selection while senior defender Haley Lowe was named all-conference for the first time in her career. Freshman goalkeeper Courtney Jones was named to the league's all-sportsmanship team as well.
Silva was the Grizzlies' go-to threat on offense in 2018, netting a team-high 34 goals and adding eight assists for a team-leading 42 points. Silva shot 44.2 percent from the field, going 8-for-17 on free position shots. Additionally, Silva scooped up 23 ground balls, finished second on the team with 40 draw controls and put 60 shots on net.
Lowe started 10 games for the Grizzlies on the back end, finishing with one goal and one assist while tying for the team lead with 31 ground balls. Lowe was the Grizzlies' most disruptive player on the back end, forcing a team-high 12 turnovers.
Jones appeared in all 10 games for the Grizzlies in goal, stopping 114 shots and finishing the year with a 3-5 record. Jones also finished the year with 28 ground balls while forcing one turnover.
