Lacrosse Team's Comeback Falls Short In Weather Shortened Game at MSJ

CINCINNATI, Ohio. (April 20, 2017) – The Franklin College women's lacrosse team lost 11-6 Thursday night at Ohio River Lacrosse Conference opponent Mount St. Joseph.

Junior Jess Silva had three goals and senior Lexi Ingram had two to pace the Grizzlies. Assisting Silva for the Grizzlies' second goal of the contest, Ingram became the first player in school history to eclipse 100 career points.

Franklin trailed 8-3 at halftime, but came out in the second half strong on pair of goals by Ingram. Franklin won four of five draws to open the half and carried the momentum for much of the way. However, the game was ultimately ended after an extensive lightning delay with 12:51 remaining.

With the loss, Franklin slips to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the ORLC.

Franklin returns to action Saturday at Washington & Jefferson College. Game time is 1 p.m.
