Franklin, Ind. - The inaugural season for Franklin College's women's lacrosse team continues this weekend with a pair of Ohio River Lacrosse Conference home matches this weekend, beginning against Thomas More College on Saturday, March 21.
Then, on Sunday, March 22, the Grizzlies will battle Mount St. Joseph University, and accepting monetary donations for the "Lax for 22" program – honoring Lauren Hill, a MSJ women's basketball player who is battling terminal brain cancer. A representative from The Cure Starts Now will accept donations from fans, and will participate in the pregame coin toss.
Both weekend matches will begin at 1 p.m. from Faught Stadium.
Franklin is searching for its first victory of the season. The team is in the middle of a five-match home stand.
Junior Paige Clark (Jefferson, Ohio/Jefferson Area) leads the Grizzlies with four goals scored this season. Classmate Carley Campbell (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) has tallied three goals and two assists to total a team-high five points.
Sophomore Hannah Grow (Morton, Ill./Morton) has also added three goals on the season.
Sophomore Kayanna Wolter (Greensburg, Ind./Greensburg) has made a team-high 29 saves in goal this spring.
