RECAP | Women's Golf Takes Second at Three-Team Tournament

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Playing their final tune-up before the conference championships, the Franklin women's golf team took on Hanover and Rose-Hulman. Action opened on Saturday at the Hulman Links Golf Course in Terre Haute, Ind. and concluded Sunday at The Legends in Franklin.

Franklin took second behind Rose-Hulman with a 687 (344-343) with sophomore Maci French leading the way for the Grizzlies. The Lebanon, Ind.-native took sixth-place overall with a 161 (81-80) and set a new 36-hole low score over the weekend.

Junior Gabi Sharp wasn't far behind, tying for seventh overall with a 170 (84-86). Fellow junior Megg Hensler also finished in the top half of the field, placing ninth overall with a 172 (85-87).

Rounding out the top-five for Franklin was junior Jaley Schlosser's 184 (94-90) and freshman Mara Wilson's 193 (95-98), which earned them 14th and 17th place finishes, respectively. Junior Mackenzie Black finished 18th with a 197 (99-98) and sophomore Taylor Dixon took 20th with a 207 (103-104) with both playing as individuals.

Franklin heads to Bluffton, Ohio and the Bluffton GC next weekend for the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12-13.
