Women’s Basketball Players Earn HCAC Honors

FRANKLIN, Ind. (March 1, 2017) – Four players on the Franklin College women's basketball team have earned spots on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's 2016-17 All-HCAC teams.

For the third straight year, senior guard Lauren DeSutter was named to the Second Team. A four-year starter, she averaged 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and just under two steals per game for the Grizzlies, who advanced to the semifinals of the HCAC Tournament.

Senior forward Sarah Taylor and senior guard Mandy Fisher were named Honorable Mention. Taylor, a four-year player, averaged 7.1 ppg and 3.3 rpg. Fisher, a four-year starter, averaged 6.9 ppg and 3.1 rpg.

Senior center Amber May was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Franklin finished the season 14-12 overall and 11-7 in the HCAC.
