FRANKLIN, Ind. (Feb. 16, 2017) – With a berth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament already secured, the Franklin College women's basketball team looks to conclude the regular season on a winning note Saturday afternoon when it hosts HCAC rival Anderson University.
The game is part of a Senior Day men's/women's doubleheader. The women's game tips off at 1 p.m. in Spurlock Center.
Franklin is 12-11 overall and 10-7 in the HCAC. The Grizzlies are looking for a season sweep of Anderson. They defeated the Ravens 71-54 in a Jan. 14 road game.
Senior guard Lauren DeSutter leads a balanced Franklin offense with a per game scoring average of 8.6 points. Senior forward Sarah Taylor averages 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Senior forward Emily Alfrey averages 6.8 ppg and leads the team in rebounding at 4.4 per game. And senior guard Mandy Fisher averages 6.7 ppg and 3.2 rpg.
Anderson, meanwhile, is 5-19 overall and 2-15 in the HCAC. The Ravens are led by freshman Kaycee Strunk, who averages 14.2 ppg. Freshman Alyssa Zook averages 10.2 ppg and freshman Olivia Love averages 10.1 ppg.
The men's game follows at 3 p.m. in Spurlock Center.
