FRANKLIN, Ind. (Feb. 14, 2017) – Riding the momentum of a three-game winning streak, the Franklin College women's basketball team will play Wednesday night at Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Transylvania University.
Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. in Transylvania's Beck Center.
Tied with Hanover for fourth place in the HCAC standings, the Grizzles are 12-10 overall and 10-6 in the conference. They are coming off Saturday's 68-43 dominating home win against Mount St. Joseph and are looking to avenge a 72-52 home loss against Transylvania on Jan. 11.
Franklin has won five of its past six games.
Senior guard Lauren DeSutter leads Franklin's balanced offense. She averages 8.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Senior forward Sarah Taylor averages 6.9 ppg and 3.4 rpg. Senior forward Emily Alfrey averages 6.9 ppg and leads the team in rebounding at 4.4 rpg.
Transylvania is 17-6 overall and 11-5 in the HCAC. The Pioneers are in third place in the league standings. They are led by senior Celia Kline and junior Rachel Cox. Cline averages 15.4 ppg and Hayes averages 8.1 ppg.
