Women’s Basketball Team Travels To Hanover on Wednesday

FRANKLIN, Ind. (Jan. 17, 2017) – The Franklin College women's basketball team will travel Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Hanover on Wednesday night.

Tied for third in the HCAC standings with Hanover, Franklin is 7-7 overall and 5-3 in conference play. The Grizzlies are coming off a 71-54 home win Saturday against Anderson.

Senior guard Lauren DeSutter leads a balanced Franklin attack with a per game scoring average of 8.5 points. She also averages a team-high 2.1 steals per game. Senior forward Sarah Taylor averages 8.0 points and 3.3 rebound, and junior guard Riley Achenbach averages 5.0 points and a team-leading 2.1 assists per game. Senior forward Emily Alfrey averages 6.1 ppg leads the team in rebounding at 4.5 rpg.

Hanover is 7-8 overall and 5-3 in the HCAC. The Panthers are led by junior Allison Nash, who averages 11.3 ppg. Freshman Alexis Nall averages 10.5 ppg, and sophomore Claire Cromer averages 8.3 ppg.

Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. in Hanover's Collier Arena.
