FRANKLIN, Ind. (January 10, 2017)- Franklin College women's basketball team is set to host Transylvania University Wednesday at 7:30 p.m in its second HCAC contest of the week.
The Grizzlies are facing a quick turnaround after losing on the road to Bluffton Monday night. The loss moved the Grizzlies (6-6 overall) to 4-2 in the HCAC, which leaves them tied for third place with Transylvania and Hanover.
Franklin features a balanced scoring effort on the season with a vast majority of the team contributing 4 to 8 points per game. However, senior Sarah Taylor leads the way with per game average of 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds. Senior Lauren DeSutter averages 8.0 ppg while senior Emily Alfrey averages 6.1 ppg and 3.9 rpg.
Transylvania enters the night with a 10-3 overall record and is coming off a conference win last Saturday against Defiance. Sophomore Celia Kline leads the Pioneers is scoring at 15 ppg. Rachel Cox, who earned HCAC Player of the Week honors last week, averages 13.8 ppg and 7.1 rpg on the season.
