Franklin Women’s Basketball Falls to Bluffton University

FRANKLIN, Ind. (January 9, 2017) -- The Franklin College Women's Basketball team lost 65-51 Monday night at Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Bluffton. The Grizzlies are now 4-2 in the HCAC and 6-6 overall.

 

Senior forward Sarah Taylor led the Grizzlies with 20 points and 4 rebounds. Senior forward Emily Alfrey chipped in with 7 points and 5 rebounds. 

With the win, Bluffton (11-2 overall, 5-1 HCAC) is now tied for the first place in the HCAC with Rose-Hulman. Junior forward Kaycee Rowe led the Beavers with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Senior center Rachel Beining had 10 points and 10 rebounds while guard Macey Sheerer contributed 12 points and 9 rebounds. 

 

The Grizzlies will return to action at home Wednesday against HCAC opponent Transylvania. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. at Spurlock Center.
