Women’s Basketball Hosting Manchester University on Wednesday Night

FRANKLIN, Ind. (January 2, 2017) – The Franklin College women's basketball team will play host to Manchester University on Wednesday night.

Franklin comes into the HCAC contest with a 4-5 season record and a 2-1 record in HCAC play. The Grizzlies are led by senior guard Lauren DeSutter, who is averaging 7.7 points per game. Senior forward Sarah Taylor is averaging nearly 7.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg. Senior forward Emily Alfrey leads the team in rebounding at 4.3 per contest. 

Manchester comes into the matchup with a 3-8 season record and 2-2 mark in HCAC play. The Spartans are led by Samantha Bolen, who is averaging 11.3 ppg. Jennifer Lee, Maddy Minehart and Beth Schaefer are all averaging above 7.0 ppg.

Both teams are looking to improve in the HCAC standings. Franklin is tied for third place while Manchester is in a four-way tie for fifth. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from the Spurlock Center.
