Holland, MI-The Franklin College Women's Basketball Team split their pair of games at the Hope College Tournament this weekend in Holland, Michigan.
After defeating Carroll University on Friday evening, the Grizzlies fell to nationally ranked Hope College by the score of 85-61. Franklin was led by freshman Erin Bradley (Bedford, Ind./Bedford North Lawrence) with 12 points. Junior guard Riley Achenbach (Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville) tallied 8 points and senior guard Blayr Poston (Colorado Springs, Colo./Hanover Central) chipped in 7 points off the bench. Senior forward Emily Alfrey (Fairland, Ind./Triton Central) led the way on the glass with 7 rebounds.
Hope was led by a balanced scoring attack, with four starters scoring double digits. Francesca Buchanan was 5-8 from the field totaling 11 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Dutchwomen. Hope shot 47 percent from the field for the game and outrebounded the Grizzlies 45 to 36.
Franklin looks to rebound on Tuesday November 22nd night with a non-conference road matchup with Depauw. Tipoff is scheduled for 8PM from Greencastle, Indiana.
