NORFOLK, Va. – The Franklin College swimming and diving teams have been named Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), with the honors being announced on Monday morning.
The Grizzlies were two of a record 713 teams from all three NCAA divisions to earn the annual team award, which was bestowed upon teams that finished with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2018 fall semester.
The Franklin women's team finished the fall with a team GPA of 3.39, finishing just ahead of the men who turned in a 3.09 GPA. The women's team is currently unbeaten in dual competitions this year at 11-0, while the men enter competition this weekend 10-1 in duals in 2018-19.
Both Franklin teams have turned their attention to their final home meet of the year, which takes place on Friday (Jan. 25) night against HCAC foe Rose-Hulman. The team will hold their Senior Night ceremony before taking on the Engineers at 6:00 p.m. at Frankin Middle School.
