TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (May 2, 2017) The Franklin College women's softball team concluded the regular-season by sweeping a doubleheader Monday evening at Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The Grizzlies won the first game in five innings, 14-5. They won the second 8-4.
In Game 1, the Grizzlies tallied 17 hits in support of winning pitcher Kayla Selzer, who improved to 8-4. Third baseman Alexis Tarver was 4 for 4, including a home run and two doubles, and three RBIs. Second baseman Baylea Lyons was 3 for 3 with four RBIs and two runs, and designated player Savannah Blevins was 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI.
In Game 2, Franklin collected 12 hits in support of winning pitcher Bailey Lindamood, who improved to 6-5. Designated player Savannah Blevins was 2 for 3, including a home run and a triple, with three RBIs. Center fielder Monica Collins was 3 for 3 with three runs and an RBI, and right fielder Megan Lalioff was 2 for 3 with an RBI.
With the wins, the Grizzlies finished the regular season 24-15 overall and 9-6 in the HCAC.
