Grizzlies Split Sunday Doubleheader Against Capital

FRANKLIN, IND. (March 19, 2017) – Franklin College softball took to the diamond today against Capital University. The Crusaders got the best of the Grizzlies in game one, winning 4-2. Franklin responded with a 4-3 victory in game two.

Pitcher Olivia Paszek took the loss in game one giving up eight hits and four runs to Capital. Three Crusaders ripped doubles in the victory ultimately holding off the Grizzlies with a final score of 4-2.

Center fielder Monica Collins was 2 for 4 at the plate with an RBI in game one.

Franklin responded in game two by holding off the Crusaders in a 4-3 victory. Pitcher Bailey Lindamood picked up the win.

The Grizzlies tallied nine hits, three RBIs, and two doubles as a team. Leading the way was first baseman Savannah Belvins who went 2 for 3 at the plate. Shelby Mager also contributed two hits on the win.

Franklin softball will return to the field when they travel to face Wilmington College in a doubleheader Sunday, March 26.
