FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College cross country teams, along with junior Blaine Conners, have been recognized for their hard work in the classroom by being selected to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's All-Academic Team for the 2018 fall campaign.
Franklin-native Conners picked up the lone individual accolade after recording a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average to go along with finishing in the top 25 percent at the NCAA Division III regional meet. Conners picked up his first career all-conference award with a seventh-place finish at the HCAC Championships and followed it up with a 58th place finish in the massive Great Lakes Regional meet.
Franklin's men's cross country team was among 178 schools recognized, while the women's team was one a list of 215 schools honored for having teams with a combined 3.1 or higher GPA for the 2018 fall semester.
