Hope, MI. - Grizzlies Men Cross Country season came to an end at the Great Lakes Regionals over the weekend. Led by Freshman Phenom Clayton Brumfield, the Grizzlies recorded multiple personal bests in the men's 8k race on Saturday, November 12.
Brumfield, who came down with a stomach illness the day before, had a gutsy performance and clocked a time of 27:48 as the Grizzlies top finisher.
Senior Evan Vernon closed out his last cross country race of his career with a personal best time of 27:55. Sophomore JT Sargent also finished with a personal best time of 28:29. Sophomore Devin Mcullum and freshman Adam Rector each finished with personal best times of 29:49 and 29:28 respectively.
Sophomore Heath Deugan clocked a season best time of 28:15.
"It went really well, I executed my race plan to perfection. Overall we all worked together with pack running and great times came from it, "said Deugan as he reflected on his performance this weekend.
The men will take some time off as they prepare for the upcoming indoor track season.
