Wilmington, Ohio - Several members of the Franklin College men's cross country team recorded season-best times during the #JennaStrong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College on Friday evening.
Freshman Clayton Brumfield led the Grizzlies with a season-best performance of 27:14.5 to place 116th among the 399 runners. Senior Evan Vernon also established a season-best time of 27:58.7 to add 142 points to the team score.
Sophomore Heath Deugan was Franklin's third highest finisher with a season-best time of 28:46.3. Sophomore J.T. Sargent and freshman Adam Rector rounded out the team's balanced effort with top-185 finishers.
The Grizzlies placed 27th during the team's final regular-season meet. Franklin prepares for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on October 29 from Hanover College.
