RECAP | Grizzly Quartet Hits the Road for Weekend Competition

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Four members of the Franklin track and field teams hit the road for competition on Friday (May 10) afternoon. Three male distance runners headed to the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill. to compete against a massive field. Meanwhile, senior Kelsey Bowling took part in the Harrison Dillard Meet, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University.

At the Dr. Keeler Invitational, junior Clayton Brumfield earned an 80th-place finish in the 1500-meter run, clocking in with a time of 4:12.85. Sophomore Chris Graham took part in the 1500 and set a new personal record in the event, breaking the tape in 4:20.20 to place just inside the top-100.

Freshman Michael Heading was part of a massive field in the 800-meter run and performed well, placing 75th overall with a time of 2:01.96.

Bowling took part in two of her specialty events at the Harrison Dillard Meet, taking part in the long jump and the 100-meter hurdles. In the jump pit, the Osgood, Ind.-native finished sixth overall with a leap of 4.65 meters. She followed that up with a 10th-place finish in the hurdles, clocking in at 16.73 seconds.

The Grizzly track and field teams will head to Delaware, Ohio next Thursday (May 16) for the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet.
