MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Franklin men's tennis team hit the pavement and headed to the Small Multi-Sport Arena to take on Cornell College and Millikin University in their first contests of the spring.
The Grizzlies (2-6) dropped both contests, falling to 7-2 to Cornell and 9-0 to Millikin. The Grizzlies collected on point in doubles play against the Rams with Jacob Zachary and Zach Lester picking up an 8-4 win in a meeting of the No. 2 doubles teams. Singles play saw newcomer Ty McCory win in his first career singles match, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 win from the No. 6 position.
