Clark Tabbed as HCAC's Defensive Player of the Week

CARMEL, Ind. – Coming off a sterling performance last Sunday (Sept. 15) evening, Franklin College sophomore goalkeeper Elliott Clark was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 17) afternoon.

The Brownstown, Ind.-native was tabbed to start the second match of a back-to-back and turned in a quality showing. Clark matched a career-high with 10 saves, helping preserve a 2-1 win over Illinois Tech, Franklin's second win in a row and the first career victory for Clark.

Clark becomes the first Grizzly to earn the league's weekly award since 2014, when Cody Chapman was named the league's Player of the Week. For the year, Clark has made four appearances and carries a .733 save percentage with 22 saves.

Franklin is back in action on Tuesday (Sept. 17) night, taking on Spalding University in Louisville, Ky. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
