RECAP | Grizzly Trio Earn Top-10 Finishes at Fall Home Tournament

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Three members of the Franklin men's golf team earned top-10 finishes this weekend when the Grizzlies hosted the annual Dr. Richard Park Invitational at Hillview Country Club.

Junior Brock Tennyson, sophomore Alan Showalter and senior Jackson Williams paced the Grizzlies to a third place finish at the event, with Franklin recording a 36-hole team score of 602 (302-300).

Howell, Mich.-native Tennyson was brilliant for the Grizzlies on his way to a share of fourth place overall. Both day, he finished at +1 to earn a two-day score of 146 (73-73). It was the best individual finish of Tennyson's career.

Right on his heels was the medalist at last year's even in Showalter, who finished two shots back of Tennyson with a 148 (73-75) to earn a tie for seventh place. Williams continued a strong start to his senior campaign, earning a share of ninth place with a 149 (77-72), with his Sunday score of even par the low round of all FC players at the event.

Playing his first career event in the top-five, freshman Evan Bonnell ended in a tie for 30th place with a 160 (79-81). Matching his score was junior RJ Turner, who carded consecutive rounds of 80 to match the 160 by Bonnell.

Franklin put together a 'B' team for the event, which was headed up by senior Aubrey Seaman's  162 (78-84) that earned him a share of 40th place. Junior Evan Graham earned a tie for 44th place with a 164 (82-82), freshman Carter Giggy took 48th with a 167 (83-84) while sophomore Lucas Thornton (87-81) and freshman Canyen Palmer (89-79) shared 49th place.

DePauw University took first place at the event, winning by two shots with a 585. Parkland College's Evan MacLean took medalist honors with a 137.

The Grizzlies are back in action on Sept. 21-22, when they head to Harrison, Ohio for the Mount St. Joseph Invitational at Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Course.
