Jackson Williams Earns Second Career HCAC Player of the Week Award

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Coming off his second event win of the year and fourth of his career, Franklin College junior Jackson Williams has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Player of the week for the second time in his career.

The Greenwood, Ind.-native turned in a +1 145 (74-71) at the Battle at Belterra last weekend and was the only player under par on Sunday as he claimed a one-shot victory over North Central's Zach Bohmer. Williams was a major factor in the Grizzlies' comeback win at the event, as Franklin dropped 11 shots off their score on day two to leap-frog three teams and win their first event of the year with a team score of 607 (309-298).

Back in the fall, Williams earned medalist honors at the DePauw Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic with a three-under 141 (71-70). His other medalist honors came on Oct. 2, 2016 at the Wabash Fall Classic after which he claimed his first league player of the week award, and on Oct. 8, 2017 at the MSJ Stateline Shootout.

Williams and the rest of the Franklin men's golf team are back on the links this Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 13-14), traveling to French Lick, Ind. and the French Lick Resort for the Indiana Small College Championships.
