Wabash, Ind. - Junior Jack Knue (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) tied for fifth place individually to lead the Franklin College men's golf team during the two-day Manchester Invitational at Honeywell Golf Course over the weekend.
Knue's strong performance helped the Grizzlies place fifth in the 10-team tournament field. He followed up his one-under-par 70-stroke score in Saturday's first round with a 76 score on Sunday. Knue finished the tournament with a 146 score.
Freshman Jonas Carmichael (Ellettsville, Ind./Edgewood) tied for 17th place while competing as an individual in the tournament with a 150 score. He carded consistent rounds of 75 scores in the event.
Franklin finished in fifth place with a 607 composite score, highlighted by a 302 team score on Sunday. The team lowered its score in the final round by three strokes from the first 18 holes.
The Honeywell Golf Course will serve as the hosts of the third and final rounds of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships from April 30 through May 1. The league championship tournament begins at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Indiana from April 23-24.
