FRANKLIN, Ind. (Feb. 12, 2017) – The Franklin College men's basketball team lost 80-72 in a hard-fought game Saturday afternoon at Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Mount St. Joseph.
Three Grizzlies scored in double figures. Braxton Day led the way with team-high totals of 21 points and six rebounds. The freshman guard was 7 of 10 from the field, 7 of 8 from the foul line and also dished a team-high-tying three assists.
Senior guard Aaron Mann scored 18 points for Franklin on 7 of 13 shooting from the floor, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range. He also had four rebounds and two steals.
Freshman guard Kale Morris scored 10 points off the bench for the Grizzlies. He was 3 of 6 from the floor, including 3 of 4 behind the arc, and led the reserves with four rebounds.
Senior guard Robbie Prather added eight points and three assists for Franklin.
For Mount St. Joseph, guard Andrew Finley led all scorers with 26 points. Guard Jake Cropper scored 14, and guards Jordan Henry and Erik Edwards contributed 12 points each.
With the loss, Franklin slips to 6-17 overall and 3-13 in the HCAC. Mount St. Joseph improves to 18-5 and 13-3.
Franklin returns to action Wednesday night against visiting HCAC opponent Transylvania. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. in Spurlock Center.
