FRANKLIN, IND. (December 6, 2016)- The Franklin College men's basketball returns to the hardwood on Wednesday night as they host Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Franklin enters the contest with a 2-3 overall record and an 0-1 record in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Grizzlies are coming off of a tough one point loss to Defiance in a double overtime thriller.
Senior guard Aaron Mann (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe) leads the way for Franklin, averaging 21.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Mann's 21.8 ppg currently ranks second in the HCAC. Junior forward John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) is averaging 15.2 ppg and 6.6 rpg. Beineke leads the HCAC shooting 69.8 percent from the field. Senior guard Robbie Prather (Franklin, Ind./Roncalli) is also averaging double digits at 15.8 ppg.
Rose-Hulman come into the game with a 1-3 record and an 0-1 mark in the HCAC. The Fightin' Engineers dropped their conference opener to Mount St. Joseph. RHIT is led by sophomore forward Charlie Aimone, who is averaging 18.5 ppg thus far. Aimone is shooting over 60 percent from the field in four games started.
Both teams are looking to get back into the win column and secure their first HCAC victory. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM from the Spurlock Center.
