FRANKLIN, Ind. – The 2019 Franklin College football schedule is set in stone and will feature another action-packed fall for the Grizzlies as they embark on another journey towards a conference championship.
The Grizzlies will kick off the 2019 slate on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m. eastern time when they head north to Lisle, Ill. for a return meeting with the Eagles of Benedictine University (Ill.). The two teams met in the 2018 season-opener at Faught Stadium, with Franklin claiming a 55-38 win to start the season.
The first of five games set to be played at Faught Stadium is set for the evening of Saturday, Sept. 14 when Albion College comes to Faught Stadium with kick-off set for 6:00 p.m. The home opener will also be the annual Football Alumni Night, with players from years past set to be recognized at halftime of the game.
Non-conference action wraps up the following week when Franklin travels to Bluffton, Ohio to take on the Bluffton Beavers. September closes with the HCAC opener against Mount St. Joseph on Sept. 28. That game begins a stretch that will see the Grizzlies play four of their next five games at home. Following a trip to Rose-Hulman on Sept. 5, Franklin will host Anderson on Oct. 12 on homecoming. A meeting with Manchester follows on Octt. 19 and the home schedule concludes on Oct. 26 with Senior Day against Defiance.
Following a well-deserved bye week, Franklin opens November on the road, heading back to Bluffton to take on the Beavers in an HCAC contest on Nov. 9. The regular season comes to an end on Nov. 16, when the Grizzlies head to Hanover for the 89th Victory Bell Game. All games against HCAC opponents will kick off at 1:30 p.m.
The 2019 HCAC champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs, which begin on Nov. 23.
