INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Franklin College senior wide receiver Ben Fleet has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Offensive Player of the Week, earning the weekly award for the first time in his career.
The Indianapolis, Ind.-native had a career day for the Grizzlies on Saturday afternoon, hauling in 10 passes for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns, setting new single-game bests in each category in Franklin's 42-39 win over Rose-Hulman on homecoming.
Fleet hauled in his first touchdown of the day with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter, a seve-yard strike from Braden Smith to put the Grizzlies ahead 34-33. With the Grizzlies down by five and facing a fourth-and-10, Fleet went over an Engineer defender to haul in the game-winning score with 21 seconds to go.
Fleet ranks second on the Grizzlies with 31 catches for 444 yards and four touchdowns through four games. The Grizzlies travel to Defiance, Ohio this Saturday (Oct. 6) to take on the Defiance Yellow Jackets at 1:30 p.m.
