Grizzlies Ranked No. 24 in College Football America Division III Preseason Poll

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Coming off a stellar 2017 campaign, the Franklin College football team checks in at No. 24 in College Football America Yearbook's Preseason Division III Top 30 rankings.

The Grizzlies went 8-3 in 2017, going a perfect 8-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play to earn another spot in the NCAA Division III playoffs. It marked the 10th time in the last 11 years head coach Mike Leonard's team earned at least a share of the conference title, and was the program's ninth undisputed league championship during Leonard's tenure.

Franklin finished the year at the top of Division III in both yards per game (564.5) and passing offense (407.1 yards) while finishing third in points per game (48.6) and fourth in passing efficiency (183.06). The Grizzlies collected 16 all-conference awards, the most among all schools, with Leonard taking home Coach of the Year honors for the seventh time.

The complete pre-season rankings can be found below. Franklin kicks off the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1, when they welcome Benedictine (Ill.) to Faught Stadium in Franklin. Start time is set for 6:00 p.m.
