Burton Captures HCAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors for Second Time in 2017

GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the second time in 2017 and the ninth time in his illustrious playing career, Franklin College quarterback Chase Burton has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Offensive Player of the Week.

Burton turned in another strong showing in the Grizzlies' 59-30 win over Bluffton this past Saturday, going 22-for-32 for 453 yards and five touchdown passes to five different receivers. For Burton, it was the seventh time in two-plus years as the team's top signal caller that he surpassed 400 yards in the air.

It also marked the second five-touchdown performance for Burton in 2017 with the first coming on opening day against No. 19 Thomas More. The following Monday, Burton was named league Offensive Player of the Week for week one.

Burton and the Grizzlies are back at home on Saturday afternoon when Manchester University visits Faught Stadium for an HCAC showdown. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
