Naumovich Claims First Career HCAC Player of the Week Award

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Franklin junior first baseman Drew Naumovich collected his first career Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Player of the Week honor on Monday afternoon after helping the Grizzlies to a perfect week on the diamond.

The Greenwood, Ind.-native batted .417 (10-for-24) with two home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored as Franklin notched wins in all six of their games last week. Additionally, Naumovich racked up a .500 on-base percentage and led the Grizzlies with a .792 slugging percentage and 19 total bases.

Naumovich had a career day for the Grizzlies in game one of their HCAC-opening double-header with Transylvania on Saturday night. After tying the game with a two-run home run in the fifth, Nuamovich put the game out of reach with an eighth inning grand slam, giving him his first multi-home run game and a career-high six RBI.

Naumovich and the 17-1 Grizzlies are set to continue conference play on Tuesday (Apr. 3) afternoon with a pair of contests against Hanover College at John P. McDowell Field. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
