Baseball Players Earn All-HCAC Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 16, 2017) – Seven Franklin College Baseball Players have earned All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for the 2017 season.

Sophomore pitcher Jordan Clark and sophomore shortstop Sam Claycamp were selected to the First Team. Clark finished the year 7-0 with three saves and led the HCAC in strikeouts with 80. Claycamp started all 38 games and posted a team-high .347 batting average. He also had a team-best 17 doubles and tallied seven home runs, one triple, 34 RBIs and six stolen bases.

In addition, junior third baseman Frank Podkul, junior catcher Jackson Freed and freshman first baseman Nick Wright earned Second Team honors. Senior pitcher Jacob McMain was named Honorable Mention, and senior catcher Jacob Troxell was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Franklin finished the season 21-17 overall and 13-12 in the HCAC.
