FRANKLIN, Ind. - Due to wet conditions in the forecast all weekend, the Franklin baseball and softball teams have canceled their season-opening trips to Illinois and Tennessee, respectively.

The Grizzly softball team was scheduled to face off with Brimingham Southern and Maryville twice over a two-day stretch in Maryville, Tenn. before changing plans due to rain in the forecast. Instead, the Grizzlies will open the 2019 season on Friday (Feb. 22) in Westfield, Ind. with one game against Indiana Tech at 5:00 p.m.

Originally set for three games in Jacksonville, Ill., the #22-ranked Franklin baseball team will now turn their attention to their home opener on Friday, Mar. 1 against Albion College. Head coach Lance Marshall has also announced a pair of home games against one of their scheduled opponents from this weekend, as Franklin will now host MacMurray College on Mar. 20 with a double-header set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
